Norstar Voice Mailbox user setup

Your Norstar Voice Mail Box

 

Initializing your mailbox (only when it's brand new)

- Go to YOUR phone, lift the handset.

- Dial FEATURE, 9,8,1  in a moment you will see: PSWD:

- Dial 0000#, you will be asked to enter a new 4-digit password.

- Dial your new password followed by the # sign. (password cannot start with a zero)

- You will be asked to accept the new password, press the # sign.

- You will next be asked to record your name.

- When you hear the beep, speak only your first and last name.

-  You will be asked to accept the recorded name, press the # sign.

-  Next your screen will read: 0 new  0 saved, you are done.  Now hang-up.

 

Recording a Prime Greeting (do this as often as you wish)

- Go to YOUR phone, lift the handset.

- Dial FEATURE, 9,8,1  in a moment you will see: PSWD:

- Dial your 4-digit password and the # sign.

- Dial 8 for mail box options.

- Dial 2 for Greetings

- Dial 1 for Record Greetings.

- Dial 1 for New Recording.

- Wait for tone, then begin speaking - press # sign when done.

- Press # sign again to accept your recording or press 2 to try again.

- Once you have accepted your recording, you are done and can hang-up.

 

Features:

 

Open Mailbox  - Feature 981, enter password and #.  Wait for more instructions.

 

Transfer a       - While you are still on the call (DO NOT put on hold), dial Feature 986.

Caller to a          your screen will prompt you for the mailbox #.  Dial the mailbox # and

Mailbox              hang-up.

 

Leave msg      - Feature 980.  Screen will prompt you for mailbox #.  Enter # and wait for

for someone       more instructions.

Outside           Call your office.  Ask to be transferred to your mailbox.  When you

access                        hear the recorded greeting dial ** from a touch-tone phone.  Wait for more

                        instructions.  If you have a night greeting or the greeting answers all the

                        time, then dial ** as soon as any greeting is heard.
