Backup of Norstar VM ver 1.0 - 3.0

Backup of VM user data

n      Inform users that VM will be down for 15 min - 20 min at most.

n      Have 5 - 7  blank 3.5” disks ready

n      Using a 7310 or 7324 phone near the VM unit.  (move a phone so you can reach the phone and VM unit easily)

n      Dial Feature 983

n      Log in as administrator (usually 102 0000, or 102 1234)

n      from Admin menu dial 22 (you won’t see a prompt for this)

n      Screen will say: Calls completing

n      Screen will prompt for disk 1 when ready

n      Open cover of VM unit, insert disk 1

n      Screen on phone will asks for additional disk: 2, 3,4, etc. (it may ask for disk 1 again at the end).

Backup of VM System files

The feature code for this varies: start with Feature 915, if that says “Feature Inactive” move to Feature 916, then 917, and so on until you get the “Pswd:” prompt.  (the feature code will be somewhere between F915 and F920)

n      At the Pswd: prompt enter 2223772

n      You should see: ACCESS to SERVER

n      Press ADMIN

n      Press NEXT until you see Bckp/Rstr

n      Press Show

n      Follow prompts as it asks for disks.  Should only use one or two disks.

n      When done with the backup, press the RLS button
